Office Stationery

If you are really concerned about cutting down the office expenditure but do not want to pinch your employees’ pockets, the best suited way would be to handle the resources in the best possible way.

The most important department that costs you quite a bit is the office stationery. Here is where one needs to have a check so as to cut down on the total expenditure figures.

The following tips would help in this regard:

1. Always encourage your employees to reduce the paper work. Some people have the weird habit of printing out the stuff just to check them out. Ask them to do it directly from the computers.

2. Lay strict rules of not taking home the office stuff even if it is not for personal use. By doing so, it is possible to control the misuse of the office stationery.

3. Recycle stuff – Always look in for notepads, pens, files and other stuff that were disposed off even before half of its utility was done. By doing so, you can cut the costs incurred by buying new ones for it.

4. Have a close check on the stationery inventory and always keep track of all the inward and outward movements. This will in turn reduce the unwanted usage of stationery in issues of very less priority.

5. Always order stationery in bulk. This will help out in saving a considerable amount of money as well. On the downside, you might end up spending more than required up-front, yet, it’s a saving in long-term.

These steps may seem simple but they definitely yield good results.

A Beautiful Smile

Everyone wants a beautiful smile and there are hundreds of dental procedures that promise you that. There are products you can buy to use at home to put on your teeth and in a matter of weeks your teeth are whiter.  Or we can also go to our dentist and have our teeth whitened by the many procedures they have. If there was a way you can get beautiful teeth without having to empty your pockets would you take it?

There is a way. You can get a beautiful smile the natural way.  There are natural recourses that can help whiten your teeth. Natural products are just as good and healthier as the products and techniques they are using now.  There’s  calcium,  carbonate, bamboo powder, sodium chloride,  these help clean your teeth, remove stains and plaque.

A common lightening agent that many people use to whiten their teeth is hydrogen peroxide. This can be used in combination with  baking soda or power and lemon juice. Strawberries are also natural lightening agents. You cannot use too much strawberries or lemon juice on your teeth because they contain a lot of acid and acid can weaken your teeth.  If you plan on using strawberries and lemon juice for awhile you can gently rub the strawberry on your teeth or mash both up into a paste.  White vinegar and apple cider are also  effective home remedies for whitening your teeth.

The way you eat can also affect your teeth.  So if you want to whiten your teeth naturally than you have to look at your diet. Do you drink a lot of coffee, eat a lot of sweets,  candy,  and soda. Coffee and a lot of red juices will stain your teeth. You can substitute these things with a nice healthy glass of water.  Fruits and vegetables also contain vitamins and calcium so make sure you incorporate them in your diet.

I know making a change in your diet can be extremely difficult because I had to do it to. About six months ago I stopped drinking coffee, soda and juices and replaced all that with water. I also used tooth paste with an high amount of  abrasivity, floss and other natural agents. As a result my teeth got much lighter.

So by whitening your teeth the natural way you can save yourself hundreds of dollars you would be paying your dentist or by teeth whitening systems that sometimes don’t work.  Just so you know using home remedies to whiten your teeth will take some time, but in the end it’s all worth it. Why? Because you won’t have to go in your pocket and your teeth will be ten times healthier and ten times whiter. Get a beautiful smile the natural way!

Key Loggers

Beware of them; they aren’t always served for the purpose good. They spy on you, seek to steal your information, and invade your privacy. They sneak on your computer screen and record your keystrokes. What’s the danger?

Key loggers are used in the workplace to assess employee productivity on task where the computers are used. They are also used by law enforcement to obtain passwords or other encryption keys by detouring around security measures. Put simply keystroke loggers are basically is like a surveillance camera watching anything you could possibly do online. Those keystroke loggers send the information back to the user who seeks to spy on you.   Keyloggers are a type of spy ware.

Types of Key Loggers

Hardware Keyloggers – Small inline devices implanted in between the keyboard and the computer. This type has the ability to seize hundreds of keystrokes that even includes your personal information, such as your bank account number.

Software- This kind off key logging is carried out by using the Windows function SetWindowsHookEx that monitors all keystrokes.

Kernel Loggers- This kind can be programmed that goes undetected because it is implemented on the boot before the user has even started to access anything. It receives data straight from the input device which is usually the keyboard.

Now that you know what key loggers are used for it’s important that you protect yourself. Mischievously they can get the information that you enter online such as bank number, passwords for different websites booked in your favorites and even your address.

Using keystroke loggers is a popular way scammers destroy their victims. They use a wide variety of tricks to deceive you. For example, they can send you a spam email telling you to click on a link; out of curiosity you just might do that. Some set out websites promising you something else but solely use to contaminate your computer. Other sources of key loggers are places online that offer free games and music that you can download. When it happens this way it’s sometimes called “Trojan” a kind of file that seems to be a harmless but actually is dangerous.

Here are ways you can be deceived:

- Online free shopping spree and auction scams – places that offer you a chance for a free shopping spree, or a place to sell and auction things and make money.
- Junk email – that offer free or cheap games, electronics or other prizes. Or promise to send a check or a chance for you to win free money but require you to enter personal information.
- Free Offers- Websites that offer free downloads, shares, product trials but in the end require you to supply your credit card number.
- Online Dating Scams- Places that start seeming as if they are interested in you, asking you your romantic interest, the kind of men or women you like but end up telling you you have to pay a certain fee to use their service.

Ways to Protect Yourself

- Avoid opening email they seem to be spam or junk.
- Don’t open any links sent from people you are unfamiliar with.
- Install spyware software on your computer to be protected from this.
- Be careful of websites that offer free music or games downloads.
- Instead of using your current keyboard you can try using a virtual one. A virtual keyboard is a graphical keypad where the user clicks on characters rather than words.

Now that you know exactly what key loggers protect yourself from it by taking all the needed action such as investing in a good spyware. All I can possibly say right now is beware; they are out there trying to destroy you.

The Meta Tags

Meta tags are an important part of the HTML that is used by the search engine spiders. They are used in the head portion of a web page. There are different types of the Meta tags such as keywords Meta tag and description Meta tags etc.  In addition to these tags there are some other tags like Meta refresh tag, Meta http-equiv tag, Meta robots tag and Meta copyright tag.

The Meta tags describe the various aspects about a web page that search engine spiders can understand.  Search engines like Google, Yahoo and MSN use this information to build their indexes. The Meta description and Meta keywords tags are the most important tags that are used to improve the ranking in the search engines. The Meta tags are used in the head portion of the web pages. The following example shows the exact syntax of the Description and Keywords tags.

<html>

<head>

<title>Computer Certifications</title>

<Meta content=”Computer certifications are ideal for the individuals who want to make successful career in the Information technology.”/>

<Meta content=”computer certifications, it exams, ccna, mcse, a+, network+, java exam”/>

The following tips are useful in defining the Meta tags for a web page.

  • Use your targeted keywords in the Meta description and Meta keywords take.  Generate relevant keywords with the Google Adword’s Keywords Tool and use it in the Page Title, description and keywords Tag.
  • The description tag provides the concise summary of a web page.  The 170 words with spaces are good.
  • Since Google no more count the check the keywords in the keyword tag but the keywords tag is still important as some other search engines use it.  Use 5-10 highly relevant keywords.
  • Use unique tags per page. Duplicate Meta tags will simply be discarded and they will devalue your website.
  • Page Title tag is not a part of the Meta tags but it is still important as it is displayed in the search results and it is considered the most important text on the web page.

Tips to Organize Your Home Office

Here are 10 tips to organize your home office:

1. Develop clear understandings and guidelines with others in the household to minimize misunderstandings about your home office. Avoid living in your office – make commitments to family time and keep them!

2. Choose a location for your office where you like to be. If you have a formal living area you use only a few times a year, but are working at home every day in a place you don’t like – think again!

3. Choose furniture and lighting to suit your individual preferences. If possible, create an L-shape for your desk area with filing space within reach. Consider ergonomic design to protect yourself from fatigue or even injury.

4. Set up your desk so you can process mail quickly. Most people need at least three containers within easy reach of their desk: In – for mail you haven’t yet looked at Out – for items that need to go someplace else File – for items that need to be filed outside the reach of your desk

5. Put wastebasket or recycling containers wherever possible – for example, under your desk, near the filing cabinet, or next to the fax machine. If you are concerned about confidentiality issues, purchase a paper shredder.

6. Create a system for filing paper and electronic information, so that you (or someone else, if necessary) can find any information you need quickly and easily.

7. Divide your files into Action (for things you are currently working on) and Reference (for information you want to be able to refer to easily).

8. If you are short on filing space, create Archives in a less accessible or off-site location for files you are legally required to keep, or for files you rarely use. Keep a list of those files at your desk for easy reference.

9. Make good use of wall space for bookshelves or cabinets for resources such as books, notebooks, magazines, and office supplies.

10. Continually ask yourself  What’s the worst possible thing that would happen if I didn’t have this? If you can live with your answer, toss – or recycle it –and work happily ever after!
